Twenty schools in northern Morocco have started preparations to join our network in the next school year. Local authorities want to give English a big boost. Working step by step they want to learn the language in a thorough way, balancing all four skills. “It is important that the pupils learn English as the language of communication of the world.” explains project leader Houcine. So from the start the speaking activities will be an important part of the project. Building Bridges allows the pupils to communicate in an exciting way. “They practise in small groups, they record online, they listen to themselves, they learn how to sound better, it is a wonderful system.” Key element is the portfolio that keeps track of the progress. Using Anglia step by step levels to show how they learn, how they get better because of the clear focus. “We call it the Powerful Portfolio.” smiles Houcine “ I have been working on English in Morocco for nearly 10 years and I am glad to see that all these efforts are now finally paying off.”
