More than 60 people applied for the vacancy of EFKF Coordinator. Over the past few weeks several interviews have taken place and many inspiring ideas have crossed the table. Starting point of the new EFKF strategy is a 160 pages report which Avans Breda students presented on 11 January after 5 months of research. “A solid report, with clear guidelines.” says EFKF Board Members Marcel de Jong who guided the 4 Avans students. Most important conclusion was that EFKF has a bright future, because the aim to help underprivileged children communicate in English is shared by many people around the world. “Improvements are possible though, especially in marketing and communication. The EFKF message is not always strong enough, we need to be less modest.” explain the students, who have compared EFKF to other charities in The Netherlands and other countries.
New staff will play a key role in the fresh approach. “Motivation letters were full of inspiring ideas and the colleagues that have made it to the last round of interviews brim with plans to use modern technology not only in the learning of English, but also in approaching possible partners and supporters. We are confident that EFKF will get a big boost and that the new staff will put EFKF back on the map.” EFKF Strategy plans will be discussed in the next Board Meeting on 12 March, after which the new staff will be presented.
