This was the fourth year that we started off our summer school season in lovely Khust, Ukraine. Like last year our director Arnold Augustijn, local organizer Lidia Fedinets and teacher Tolga Gul were present but this year the team was supplemented with EEG colleague– If I have not done it before, I am sure can do it – Melanie Testers and Monique Wilkinson from the UK who was the appointed summer school head teacher.
“This week was the kick-off and the perfect start of the 2019 summer school season! Lots of new students, new teachers and this year also a new second location. At the welcome there were lots of tense faces, but after the warming up session everyone loosened up. The English Experience Week is all about English in Action. There are not too many boring exercises; we focus on learning children how to communicate in English with one another . These skills will help them to become global citizens.
It was also very warm in Khust this week so we went outside often to play, for the group pictures, lunch (in the shade), sports, games and ice cream for everyone! This was such an energetic and inspiring week for all of us!” – Melanie Testers
